Hotel Project Accountant-Saudi Arabia

The Project Accountant is the corporate point of contact for the hotel property personnel for accounting related matters. The Project Accountant is responsible for performing the accounting work for the properties assigned to him/her in order to generate the monthly financial statements. Responsibilities include processing invoices received directly from suppliers and reconciling vendor statements, completion of Sales and Occupancy Tax Returns, preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and completion of any general journal entries necessary. The Project Accountant is also assigned responsibility for the generation of various hotel operating reports and participating in the review of monthly financial operating statements. The Project Accountant must be able to prioritize the work and manage time in order to meet all required deadlines.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Duties will include, but are not limited to:
•Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all company policies and accounting procedures
•Maintain complete knowledge of all computer systems related to the job function including, but not limited to, the general ledger system and accounts payable system
•Maintain files on all accounting data received from the properties and backup for work performed
•Process all invoices received directly from company vendors in accordance with company procedures and submit through accounts payable system
•Print designated operating reports, review and distribute as specified by Division Controller
•Prepare applicable local government Sales, Use and Occupancy Tax Returns according to established procedures
•Complete month-end closing procedures as specified, including general journal posting
•Participate in the review of monthly financial statements to include variance analysis of actual expenditures to budget. Communicate variances to appropriate hotel personnel. Post any required journal entries
•Prepare monthly reconciliations of General Ledger balance sheet accounts
•Prepare general journal entries for reconciling items identified on the bank reconciliations
•Respond in a timely and professional manner to all inquiries from internal and external clients
•Participate in special assignments as requested
•Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
•Strong analytical skills
•Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
•Able to meet multiple priorities and deadlines
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•5-7 years experience as a Project Accountant preferred
•4 year Accounting or Finance Degree required
